Jessica Marie Alba is an American actor and businesswoman. She started her TV and film career at thirteen with Camp Nowhere, and The Secret World of Alex Mack (1994). When she was 19 she ascended to fame as the leading actress in Dark Angel (2000–2002), for which she was awarded a Golden Globe nomination. Honey (2003) was Honey's big screen debut. Magazines like Men's Health and Vanity Fair have also put Alba on their lists. Jessica Marie Alba was the daughter of Catherine Louisa Jensen and Mark David Alba. Alba was born in Pomona on 28 April 1981. Her mother has Danish, Welsh and German ancestry. The grandparents of her paternal grandfather were born in California as children of Mexican immigrants. Joshua is her older brother. Gustavo Arellano (her third cousin) is once again her biological father. Her father was an Air Force pilot and took the family to Biloxi (Mississippi) and Del Rio (Texas), after which they returned to Claremont in California at nine years of age. Alba says that her family is a conservative, traditional, Catholic, Latin American family. She calls herself liberal and claims that she was feminist at five years old.
